Back again with a Denkare’s song.
It’s not a secret that they’re one of my favorite bands (circles?) when it comes time to original songs, and I truly cannot wait to have in my hands their latest (full) songs.
Well, I have no much to write this time, probably because I haven’t played the game this song should be inserted in (nor I’m sure if it’s actually inserted in), or maybe since I’ve already said how much I like them. Good luck if you’re going to check what’s EXTRAVAGANZA, because it’s by Black Cyc. And Black Cyc makes eroge games. Just to say.
Anyway, I really hope you’ll enjoy this song, dark as usual. I simply love this atmosphere, it fits so well the kind of games they usually compose this tracks for.
Notes
“ただ一度でも | I want to be saved”; this phrase and the next one actually means “I want to be saved and if my wish doesn’t come true, Let me die”. But, considering the tone of the whole song, I believe in English sounds way better translated in this way.
“深い睡りに | I’m falling”; here “睡り” means “sleeping”, not necessary lying down. Although, considering the themes treated by this song, I pretty much believe that here “to sleep” means actually “to die”. Even if I’ve kept a more literal translation, I just wanted to point it out –but I think you had already guessed it, even without those lines~
“苦痛ごと | But if this pain”; literally, it means “If pain (and things like it) disappear, it’ll be good”. Though, the previous phrase to me is chained with this one, so my choice of translated it pretty liberal. I hope in this way I’ve kept the “dark” feeling I had when reading those lyrics.
“せめて一つの | At least”; another phrase I’ve translated pretty much liberal. The literal translation sounds pretty awful to me, and is “If you don’t allow me to embrace at least only the proof of my existence”, but it destroys the feeling of “Please let me do this”. Thus, my choice of “changing” it.
